Cardinals not grouping together much?
Hi not been on for a while. All's going well with new tank, thanks to all ur help.

Just a question out of interest. I've got 6 cardinals and they've started to swim about a lot individually/pairs instead of grouping together, is this just cos they're chilled out in their environment or cos I need more?

Tank is 63l

other fish: 3 cherries, 2 dwarf honey gourmis, 2 cories

Will have to get some pics sorted.

i would have thought that they were comfortable,
they only shole(?) together when they feel threatened.
wait for someone elses opinion though i could be wrong.

thanks willow, I was thinking that it could be cos they were unthreatened or a little lost cos there weren't enough of them. i did also wonder if it was cos maybe they were getting ready to reproduce. I think I should find out more about them, i have done about the other fish - only up til recently the cardinals didn't really do much except swim around in a group and look pretty of cos :)

I was thinking about getting another female corrie so i'll have a male and 2 females and was just wondering if maybe a few more cardinals might be better since the corries seem happy enough, it's quite hard not having such a big tank don't want to overstock it. I can see how easy it is to end up having several tanks - that get bigger and bigger :O)

corys always do better in a bigger group, they're fun to watch, and if you get them to spawn,Wow!! it's so cool to see. :)
if you have space for more cardinals then yeah good idea, they also look nice in a big group, once my tank is up and running again, and settled
i would like to increase the neons, there are 10 at the moment.
yes i know what you mean about bigger tanks, that's how we
all end up with MTS(multy tank syndrome :) ) if you can afford
and have the room for a bigger tank,i say go for it,it is in some
ways easier than a small tank.
got room for a 4 footer ? think of the cardinals in there
(not wanting to tempt you ofcorse. :) )

sadly no room :o( but when we move I will def. get probs another 2 tanks.
I agree the corries are great to watch my two are very playful with eachother dancing around together wiggling their tails and darting up and down the tank - mainly in the evening. When I got them I thought they just mouched around on the bottom looking for food all the time -couldn't have been more wrong!

i have to say that they are the most entertaining
little guys arnt they :)
well i hope you're able to get the tanks you want when you move.
