I have been hunting for a Zebra oto and finally found one, but along with him was a little ablino one(that my kids and hubby love), the sales guy told us it was an albino oto, but I can't find a pic anywhere. Has anyone since one before? I'm afraid him may be somthing else that will be to big for our tank. He looks like a pleco to me just white on white spots. [/u]
well albino is possible though i have never seen or heard of an albino oto yet but that doesnt mean they arent possible
if you could post a pic of it someone here may be able to ID it for you
Perhaps a gold chinese algae eater? Here's what mine looked like when he was smaller:
He's still at the store being "babysat" til we get our tank set up next week. Though after searching all day on line I did finally find a picture of one just like it but it just said albino bn. Since I'm still a newbie i'm not sure what bn is yet  .http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/9271_albino_bn_2.jpg
That's a Bristlenose (also known as Bushy Nosed) Pleco. They grow to about 4".
So will he be ok with
6 neon tetra
2 zebra oto
and an african dwarf frog?
Those are what we are planing on getting for the tank
Should be ok but what size is the tank?
They are recomended for tanks of no less than 30 gal and require a well oxygenated tank. You could probably get by with 20 gal. They also need driftwood to gnaw or rasp on .It helps their digestive process. They will eat lots of algae and also need some vegatable matter such as cucumber(blanched) zuchinni,Romain lettuce, sweet potatoe,And algae wafers for their long term health.Aint they cute?
It's a 20 gal. I guess we'll have to think about it, I don't want him to be to unhappy.
Thanks everyone for your help!
