Plant and filter Problem

Ok so i have a 30 gallon tank with an aqueon quietflow filter. I have frogbit, duckwee, and water lettuce. All of which constantly are getting sucked into the filter intake tube after getting caught under the filter flow. I slowed the flow down considerably with sponges and have minimized surface agitation as much as i can and the problem still persists. the plants are nearly all gone now and the few that are left are dying. Whta can i do?

A "plant corral" would be a good thing to try - it will keep the plants where you want them and out of the way of the flow from the filter.
