Water parameters for Philippine Bumblebee Goby

The Philippine Bumblebee Goby should be kept in an aquarium with the temperature ranging from 74 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and a Ph of around 8.

Description

This is a true freshwater and small schooling goby growing to only 4-5 cm which thrives in freshwater to brackish water estuarines. It can also be found in streams, canal ditches, rivers and marshes.

This goby thrives on plant matter often consuming zooplanktons. They prefer to live in planted areas, usually under mangrove root spots.

Water chemistry: Water should not be acidic and soft. As this is a freshwater fish which can thrive even better in brackish water, SG should be maintained not particularly lower than 1.010. It is quite hardy but you still need to pay attention on water quality as this fish may become quite vulnerable to bacterial infections.

Tankmates should be peaceful and not too big which will intimidate the gobies into hiding. Other bumblebee gobies, rasboras and mollies are suitable tankmates.

No captive breeding has been recorded so far and importation is very little known.
