A pic of my first Ram.
I bought it as a blue ram. But it doesn't look blue to me.. I still like it though. Any tips on feeding him? I just got him today and he didn't eat with the rest of the fish(4 zebras). I had the zebras their to cycle the tank. Right now hes pretty scared of everything. I'm guessing he will get used to being in that tank in a few days. Any tips suggestions?
The tank he/she is in.
I would start by adding alot of plants he will feel more comfortable if there is alot of plants to hide in and around
and they dont usually get their color until they reach maturity
Yeah I was thinking about adding plants. But the guy at Petland said that they usually get uprooted . He said to just buy driftwood and rock ornaments . Is this true? If it isn't Ill buy plants tomorrow.
that is true for african cichlids for the most part but untrue for most SA cichlids with rams you want plants for them to hide in
and more drift wood isnt a bad thing its just really expensive
The driftwood can be expensive, so I suggest you shop around for good prices.
A ram won't harm your plants in any way, and they prefer a heavily planted tank.
That small piece of driftwood i got was only 7dlls. I got a couple of plants . He does hide alot now .. He still doesn't go up and eat. But he does eat from the gravel.
Here is a shot
Hey! That's a good start. But you need more plants. Lots more! :D
Are those real? Lol sorry if thats a stupid question, I just can't tell.
Live plants are the best.
Plastic.. I'm worried that live plants will die.. I don't want to deal with co2 ..
But if there's a plant that doesn't need much light ill buy some..
You don't need co2!!! Only for some plants, but all you need is a light, I just have a 15 watt bulb on my 28 gallon tank and I use ferts. You may want more then that. But it depends what type of lighting you have already.
