New Plants ????
My friend is sending me some java moss. I want to add it to my tank. Do I need to treat it or do anything to it before adding it to my tank? It is coming out of her tank so.....what should I do?
It depends, are you worried about introducing snails, illness or both?
Java moss is pretty indestructible, so you can just put it in a vase on a windowsill for a week or two if you want to QT it. As for preventing snails, I'm not sure how well bleaching would work for a plant like that...I would worry that it would absorb the bleach and be hard to rinse out.
Im not worried about snails. But just illness...she has a healthy tank and all but ya never know right?
