Powerhead not sucking air to skimmer
I'm setting up my protein skimmer now, a seaclone. But the powerhead isn't sucking in the air. There's water the bottom inch or so in the air line with in the powerhead and I took the valve off so it could pull the whole line in. I'll blow in the air line to try to get it jump started and it'll last a few seconds and quit again. None of the lines are kinked and if I take the powerhead off my skimmer it'll fill the tank full of bubbles, but something about it being hooked up to the skimmer.

Any suggestions?

{sigh} Isn't it frustrating?

Ok, you probably have an power head that just doesn't have enough water flow to pull the air in effectively. Water pressure will cause this, especially if the power head is placed very far beneath the surface. Can you shorten the length of the input tube and move the power head closer to the surface?

What brand power and model head do you have?
