Here comes another one.
I have a 7.5G freshwater tank. I'm tired of my neon tetras. I want something just as low maintenance but colorful. Nothing grey. What are you suggestions?
There are some incredible killifish that would fit in a 7.5. Many of them rival the colors of saltwater reef fish.
Thanks. They look great. How fussy are they in terms of care?
WAIT!!! I just read they jump, agressive at times and eat each other. I'm not sure I want to keep cleaning the "remains" every day.
Any other fish choices?
What "remains"? As long as you've got a good lid, you should be just fine. Just try not to startle them during tank maintenance. With certain killifish, males can be intolerant of one another, but as long as you get appropriate sexes you should be fine. You shouldn't have problems with them being cannibalistic unless they're vastly different in size (as in, you buy one adult and one young fry, but I don't really know why you'd do that).
the very easiest fish to keep, and most of these look great, are danios. you can fit probably 8 danios in there, either zebra, blue (aybe giant? dont know much about them) or the long-fin variety in there. white cloud mountain minnows look pretty good too, but are scared easily.
Definitely not giant danios, as these guys get to be pretty big (four or five inches), need to school and need a lot of swimming space. I'd have to say that even the smaller danios would be better in a larger tank since they'd really appreciate the swimming space. White clouds would be a better choice, I think. I've recently seen a long-finned variety that looks absolutely stunning.
Thanks, everyone. :D
