Suggestions for site

I have yet to find a good tool which allows you to enter what type of fish you have/want, and then lists compatible fish, plants, substrate, etc for that fish. This would be great, you would basically have a database of fish species, descriptions, etc and they could all be linked to other compatible fish.

I am a software developer so would be willing to give more detail if anyone of the admins is interested!

Also, if you know of a site that already does this (well) please let me know!

Hi jsm11482,

Thank you for the suggestion. I have actually been thinking about such a tool and I was planning to create it this weekend.

Any members who are very knowledgable about fish, compatibility, food, water conditions, etc. are welcome to contribute!

Awesome, feel free to IM me if you need any insight! Are you also a developer?

I can find my way through source code :) I'll PM you.

Thought I would make this public to get other users' feedback:

Did you ever think of adding a feature which would allow each user to track their tank stats? I don't know if people would use it but I would (currently I use excel) but it would be cool to be able to add your stats each time you test your water and see graphs. It would also allow people to look up other peoples stats if they are asking why their fish are dying, etc.

Along those same lines, what about adding a feature for users to document their tank setup(s)?

Hi Josh,

This is currently under development :)

Thank you for the idea and please don't hesitate to suggest anything else we can enhance our community with.

Another suggestion...have you ever been to CarDomain.com? If not here is an example: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2232592. People get their own page for their car to post pics, descriptions, etc etc. It would be cool to have a similar idea here, but of course with aquariums instead of cars!
