Sand coverage

I'm ordering Tahitian Moon Sand for my 30g, and just want to know if a 20lb bag would give adequate coverage. I just don't want to spend money on a whole other bag and end up with a ton of extra. The tank won't be planted, if that helps. Any advice is appreciated!

What are the dimensions of the tank?

12.5" deep, 30" long, 18.5" tall

Ah ok, that's a 29g. A regular 30 gallon is six inches longer but isn't as tall. I think a 20 lb bag should provide enough to adequately cover the bottom.

Oohh, okay. I was curious about that, because I thought it was a 29 but then one day I typed in the dimensions and got 30. Thanks a lot for the help!!

a 20lb should be perfect. it might be a bit more depends on how high you want it to be. i have a 25gal tank my sand level is 1 inch off the glass. so a 20lb should satisfy you. hope that helps.

Yeah that helps a lot, I was hoping someone with a tank size close to mine would say something. Thanks! I ordered a bag last night.
