To be honest I have yet to see Dwarfs with black spots on there tails, not to say that it doesn't happen, just haven't come across one yet. I know that Golds and Blues have them naturally... Is there only one spot or are there a bunch?? Is there anyway you can post a pic?

Not sure how to get photos up on here, but will try....Ill need to try and get a good one of her, if she satys still for long enough...!!
Theres just the one, its like where her tail attaches to her body, right in the middle there..!!

I took the liberty to do some research on possible "black spot" problems and came up with 2. One being a parasite that will die off becuase in an aquarium there is no way it can complete it's life cycle to thrive or hatch a second generation of parasites.

The second is to do with poor water quality, resulting in burns, the black spots are a result of the fish healing. It is suggested that you do a water check and perform a water change.

Hopefully someone can confirm or correct me. If not maybe track down one of the moderators such as Okiemavis. They are good for advice and problem solving.

Hmm, a few different types of gourami have black spots on their tail, are you sure it's a dwarf gourami (colisa lalia)?

Any chance we could get a photo?

Shes defanitely a dwarf gourami..!!
Done our water tests and everythings in order, I keep checking on her every hour or so and its starting to look like its a part of her markings thats darkened. If it is this why is it just this part in that shape..?
Im trying to get a good photo but she wont stay still long enough..!!

Well keep on trying with that pic :) .. It took me about 20 shots before snapping a nice one of my dwarfs, what works well for me is shooting while I feed them..
