i started my aquarium about 2 weeks ago and i found this site today and i joined so i was hoping if i could get some care tips for my sunburst platys, cremecicle lyretail molly, dalmation molly, blue dwarf gourami, and algae eater
hello and welcome. :)
have you cycled your fish tank before you added fish
or is it bran new and added fish straight away.?
i have cycled it
keep the water clean, and the gravel vaced, not too warm
as that makes the oxygen level lower, never change all the sponges
all at once in the filter, just rinse sponges, media with used tank water.
feed a varied diet.
test the water with a good liquid test, not the strips they seem to be
would that help you at all :)
my tank is 10 gallons
thanks for the advice
Clean the tank weekly.
Once a week, usually on Saturday, I take half an hour or forty five minutes and I do tank maintenance. I clean the filters, vacuum the gravel, test the old water, do a 30% water change, stir the sand, and scrub the glass. I do it all at once and its done pretty quickly and easily even on a 55 gallon tank. A lot of that time is taken up with refilling the 15 gallons + evap with my 2.5 gallon bucket.
With a smaller 10 gallon tank I'd imagine you could easily do that in 15 to 20 minutes.
