Sparky has passed away. He died this afternoon while I was out and as soon as I came home from work, I discovered him dead. He had moved over to his green silk plant and was lying on the bottom of it. I actually thought he was dying this morning and every time I looked at him today I was surprised he was still breathing.
I am sad to have lost him even though I had him for such a short time. I am relieved that he is not struggling anymore and is at peace. I don't know if he was sick or just died of old age. I got him at Petco. I will never again get a fish from them. My first one Rain, died after only 13 months, and I got him at Petco.
Thankfully, Shimmer is healthy and happy and I've had him for 13 months (from a lfs).
Dude, that sucks.
My condolences to Sparky. I'm sure he's happy now, wherever he is.
I'm so sorry about Sparky. I'm sure he'll be missed very much. I'm glad Shimmer is doing ok.
I'm sorry :(
I am so sorry to hear about Sparky...:-(. I know he was well loved.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. I buried Sparky this morning in one of my small planters on the balcony with a Jade plant, cactus and three decorative stones. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, I returned his little body to Mother Nature's elements in a respectful manner. I then watered all the plants.
Thanks again everyone.
