Ick question.

I finally finished treating my tank for ick, and unfortunately lost a few during the way. I finished the treatment about 3 days ago. I had to take out my Rock Shrimp, and my Ghost shrimp, because I heard some of the chemicals are harmful to them.

How long should I wait until I can put them back? Could I do it now?
Also, how long should I wait before I add more fish to replace the ones I lost?
Thanks[/list]

You should use a fresh bag of activated carbon for 24 hours to remove any medication. I would then do a 25% water change and wait 7 days to play it safe.

Did the medication you use have copper in it? Pasfur's right, but I'd get a copper test kit, as that stuff can linger in your tank for a long time afterwards. At least add some ghost/feeder shrimp as guinea pigs to see if they survive...

Great point!

Also, what type of aquarium substrate did you use? And do you have any sea shells in the aquarium? (not a joke... serious question.)
