ID this sponge-like creature?

I found this odd little.. thing growing on my live rock. I know it's not a sponge, because I accidentally touched it once, and it didn't have spicules, but it felt kinda spongy. I've also noticed smaller ones like this growing in little spots along the underside of the live rock. There was another small piece of it off to the side and within view, but one of the cleaner shrimp took it off and ate it up, I'm wondering if this is why they've been picking around on the underside of that rock for the past week.
