What to feed Julii cories
I bought 5 Julii Corydoras on Saturday for my 55 gallon tank, and right now I have them in a temporary quarantine tank. My question is what to feed them. I bought these algae wafers, but soon after I put them into the tank they turn into a pile of mush and make the water all cloudy. They are eating it, but I don't want something that's going to cloud up my big tank... is there something better to feed them, or a certain brand of algae wafer that's not going to fall apart into a heap?
What brand of algae wafer is this? I use Omega One Veggie Rounds and they never cloud, and the corys really go after them for hours (the Omega break down very slowly).
A veggie-based food is good even for non-vegetarian fish like corys. A variety is nice too, I use 3 different sinking foods, one being this veggie based and the others being shrimp pellets and a general sinking food from New Life Spectrum.
Frozen bloodworms are good as a treat, but only once or at most twice a week. Same for live blackworms if you have a nearby store that carries live foods. Most fish don't need live foods, but if they are available a treat is OK.
The algae wafers I'm using are API brand.
I will go to the store and get the ones you recommended and the sinking pellets, too. Thanks!
