Home Bred Feeders
Well, its been around 4 months since my female pooped out a billion babys. They are now getting big enough to feed to my oscars. The biggest ones are around 1 1/2, and the smallest are from a different female which had all albino's,and they are about 3/4 of an inch long. The biggest ones get scooped out of the 100 gallon water trough outside and dangled under the surface of the Oscar tank, CHOMP!!! R.I.P. lil' feeders
oh yeah, they are Convict cichlids.
check out these pictures I took today when I was cleaning the water trough they live in.I put them in a 10 gallon tank while I was cleaning and noticed that there was just so many that I had to share!!so enjoy.they will ALL BE EATEN SOON!!!
lol thats a neat idea i dont think ive ever seen someone not use guppies or goldfish, im sure you might get a flamer or two but it all works out as long is at its not more cost affordive to sell the babbies, and i know it isnt since they sell thoes things for 50 cents each at an LFS near me 8)
I've definitely heard of people using convicts as feeders before. They breed like rabbits, so why not?
yes imntbatman you got it!!!! I used to sell them to my LFS, but he packed up and moved 30 miles away(2 far for me to drive 2 make a profit) so why not feed them to Whitey and M.C. the Oscar!!
oh wow theres a ton of them!
thats a great idea to use them as a food source. hoorray for saving money!
Lol, poor little things. Everyones gotta eat though right? XD I wonder how much they would sell for?
Not to mention as food for your oscars they'll be illness/disease free!
That's a lot of fish! Kinda sad though :( I don't think I'd be able to feed them to the other fish!
All those fish together look really cool!!! I have big fish that need food too and i am jelious that you can have so many feeder fish. Even though they are feeder fish they are still very beautiful! Have Fun.:-D
Aaw, send me some! I'll take the little dears! lol.
