spot on fin but no other symptoms
i have a sunset platy that has this one white spot on its tail and it seems like fungus but the fish has shown no signs of odd behavior and acts very healthy. Im sure the ball has been there for some time and just now i took it out into a 1.5 gallon tank and put a drop of melafix into it. Is this a serious disease or is it a disease at all? I dont wanna have to really treat the fish unless i really have to since it stresses them.

you can treat with melafix without harming the fish. just be sure to follow dosing instructions. (and remove carbon from filter while treating) but it's all natural, so it shouldn't stress them out.

well unfortunatly the fish decided that it would jump out of the small tank despite the 5 inch gap between the waterline and the top of the small tank. i guess it wasnt all that sick if it could jump that gap.... Still cant figure out how that happened but I am treating the tank with melafix now in case the toerh fish start getting sick too. Thanks
