CO2 and pH
Ok, I really don't get something about CO2. Everything I read says that it will lower pH. So, how do your fish not get shocked when you do a water change with your regular tap water? Is the pH change signifigant, or slight?
I would like to do a small DIY CO2 setup on my planted 15 gallon, but don't want the aggravation right now of messing with my pH. Could someone please clear this up for me. Thank you very much.
Well, the idea is with properly buffered water it won't cause too much of a fluctuation. That, and you only do small water changes at a time. I wouldn't do more than 25%.
