- - I bought a test kit (or HELP!!) (http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/freshwater-tropical-fish/i-bought-test-kit-help-16926/)
I bought a test kit (or HELP!!)
It is the 5 in 1 test strip. (The liquid kind only tested for pH) and these were my results:
Nitrate - 80 (Unsafe)
Nitrite - 10 (Danger)
Hardness - 75 (Soft)
Alkalinity - 40 (Low)
pH - 6.8 (Neutral)
Now I know why my Mollies died...the Nitrate and the nitrite. Do I do a 30% change? 50%? How often? And should I do it with tap water or my PUR purified water? How many days after the changes should I retest?
Thanks for helping me save my tank!
Is your tank cycling or something? I would do 20-25% water changes, daily if needed.
I would also recommend getting a liquid master test because you really can't trust those results... Wheres the ammonia?
