Corydorus Habrosus Water Stats I have these fish being delivered tomorrow. I am fine tuning the water stats of my 55g tank. the corys will be joined by 6 otos and 10 platys. I read that Corydorus habrosus is sensitive to water stats. the problem is i have very soft water at ph of 8+. the platys and otos are used to that ph just wondering if i should adjust it to be more cory friendly. also is it true corys dont like salt? |
Yes, you should adjust your pH... If you can that is. Just do it slowly, and be sure your ottos and platys don't mind. Its absolutely true cory cats do not like salt. |
ok right now no one is in the tank. Im just worried every time I do a wc I will have to mess with the ph. Last time i messed with the ph with fish in the tank i lost half my fish. what is the highest the cories will be ok with? |

I have a chunk of driftwood soaking my bathtub. Cant seem to get rid of the tannins. I did some tests on my new tank. came up with strange colors. The ph definetly looks higher than 7.6 (what the regular test can measure), but the high range doesnt look like any color on the chart. Not sure what to call it. I did increase the hardness to >10 to help stability. http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o...eprizm/004.jpg |
