My new used 125 gallon aquarium :D
 

Ok i hate seeing a thread that gets off topic and i did it on my own with my problem thread so ide like to start this thread to get into on my new aquarium so keep things clean for other people to read so they dont have to scroll through off topic things in my cloudy water thread to get to answers.

So here is my soon to be new freshwater aquarium i am moving it to the new apartment this weekend and will be filling it this weekend or the start of next week.

Im pretty sure im going with gravel, and i was told i should get some or a mechanical filter also.

Question #1. Do i need to get a mechanical filter that will filter the full 125 gallons since i have the wet/dry also or do i just need something extra like a 50 or 80 gallon power filter?

Question #2. i hooked up all the pipes to get a idea of how things will run and i do not understand how he had the line that runs from the pump to pump back into the tank set up because it does not really feed back here is a picture to help you help me out please:

see how the pvc just goes straight up like that, ide have a fountain shooting up in the air if i left it like that, but if i put a 90 elbow i couldnt use the glass tops he gave me..any ideas?

yea i thought of that i was just wondering how he might of done it since it wasnt already notched out, he must not of used the glass lids or something, i thought of maybe moving the lince to the back of the tank and puting two 45's on it to make it closer to the back so i could just cut the plastic piece on the back of the glass lid
