Do you own a 300 gal fresh water tank?
I'm a few days away from ordering a 300 gal tank for my Pacu plus.
I heard an acrylic tank is stronger, so am looking at one of those, but I'm concerned about the top, as its all sealed except for 4 openings in the middle of the tank.
Would this be harder to get into the tank for cleaning ect?
My Pacu is alread 15ins by 10ins, they call them tank busters, thats why I'm considering the acrylic.

Jo - a friend of mine had a 400 gallon acrylic display with Pacu. The top was cut similar to what you describe. The entire process of aquarium maintainence changes with such a large tank and large fish. You will basically be draining large volumes of water and refilling, most likely with a Python type system. In a nutshell, it should work out fine.

And yes, acrylic is safer for these fish!

Make sure yout floor can support a tank weighing over a ton. If a small tank leaks, it's a mess. If a 300gal tank leaks, it's massive water damage. You should also check with your insurance if you haven't yet.
