Today I finally got my plants, so it is time to set up the tank.

Using Aqueon Quietflow filter., topfin 300 watt heater, not sure what the lighting is.
Plants include Duckweed, frogbit, hornwort, dwarf penywort, moneywort, red ludwigia, parrot feather, and some other plant.
Sand substrate.

Any thoughts to adding hardscape? I have one tank without any and I kind of regret taking it out. If you're still planning on a bristlenose pleco it would definitely appreciate having driftwood.

Im gettin driftwood tuesday.

Update!

I added Bio sponges to the Aqueon filter instead of carbon.
I also added some rocks and ordered some water lettuce
I added 4 White Clouds.

Congrats on the fish! Just make sure you keep a close eye on ammonia. You do have live plants, but not enough to help with this.

I check everyday since petsmart is pretty much right down the road and they do free tests

Off to a good start! I love minnows, I hope they do well for you. . . good that you're having the water tested, just a word of warning, though you probably already know this; don't let the shop tell you it's 'fine,' make them give you numbers. Also worth noting that MY PetSmart uses strips to test, which is not the best way. Perhaps you should consider making your next purchase an API test kit?

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I plant to get the kit, but i have to buy the saltwater test kit. BTW i think one of the white clouds is preggo, her belly is much bigger than the others. Im hoping that its just because she is a she and thats why she looks that way. Also the male clouds are being big meanies to each other, chasinf and nipping relentlessly, any ideas as to why?

Nevermind i know why there is aggression, thanks tosomeone helpful post here http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/c...ressive-65169/
I only have 4 clouds an they prefer a group of 6 min. But i cant add anymore till the tank cycles correct?
