convict cichlid advice
I am going to add some fish with my convict cichlid and I have a new 100 gallon tank so size is no problem
and anyways I was going to get a whole new batch of fish I wanted to base them around convict cichlids, what would you advise?

Hardy fish! Ones that are fast, or not easily picked on is best, especially if the convicts begin to breed. It depends on how many convicts you want, but you may want to avoid other territorial fish.
With a 100 gallon tank you have SO many options. A giant school of tiger barbs would look incredible. There are some very cool plecos as well. In fact, I'd recommend doing a proper biotope, but that's just my opinion :D

I think you'd probably be safe with a school of giant danios.

I would put Firemouths, some bloodparrots, red devils,.I have alot of Convicts and anything I put with them has to be larger than them due to their horrible aggressivness. I have two 10" Oscars with one Female Convict. I would make sure NOT to get mixed sexes of Convicts!!!!!!!. They will breed very fast, and when they start to spawn, they will harrass and even kill tank mates MUCH bigger than themselves. I would only go with other Cichlids and make sure to get only a couple at first.

okay thankyou I also have another question about this though, I have had 1 convict cichlid in this tank, and I just put in some more convicts and a jack dempsey, is it common for the original convict to be EXTREMELY territorial and bite the other fish?
when will this end??

This will probably end when the other fish die (if you don't do anything about it). You could try taking all of the fish out, rearranging all of your decor, and adding the fish back in with the "new" fish going in first and the surly guy going in last.
