Alright I'm leaving in like.. 5 or 6 hours to go to Montreal for 5 days... I'm writing down instructions for my older to sister to watch my fish tanks for me while I'm gone (I'm really scared) I'm trusting her with topping off water in my ten gallon upstairs too :( I think she can do it I'm just afraid she'll mess up.. Lol I love her to death but she is more blond then I am.
So I was thinking and I was going to get one of those weekly pill dispenser things and just leave the amount of food I wanted her to feed in there. But I still haven't packed so... lol I'm not exactly prepared, anyways, I'm writing down feeding instructions as a *tiny* pinch... Should I say every other day? That might confuser her if she forgot what day she fed them on... I'm sure they would be fine with no food at all but I don't wanna do that to them.... Urg and shes going to be having parties... I'm so afraid for my fish this is ridiculous... I have a feeling people will just be like "oh look fish, I be they are hungry *DUMP*" But I'm going to have to try and forget about that.
So what do you guys think? Should I tell her to feed every other day or just not at all?
id say put some food in a really small container and hide the rest of your food that way nobody can really overfeed them. or leave in the directions what day of the week she should feed them. then she couldnt forget.
Don't bother, and hide the food. I just got back from a ten day vacation. My sister in law came by once and I left a small pinch of food in a tupperware for her to dump in. That's all the food they had in ten days and my fish were fine when I got back. More ravenous than usual but fine. If you're the least bit worried just don't have her feed them at all, they'll be fine.
In fact your tank should be fine for five days to run by itself. I wouldn't even worry about topping off the water unless its a salt water tank or has some special issue or wicked evaporation rate. Just do a regular water change before you go and fill it up extra high if you're worried about the evaporation.
Would sister not otherwise be at the home were it not for the feeding of your fish? If so I would feed them before I left and not worry about the house or the fish both will be fine. If she stays there as well ,I would only have enough food out for one feeding . :)
But thank you, you all had great ideas. I think I can go away without being really worried now. lol Does anyone know somewhere cool to visit in montreal?? So far... I'm going to big als, but my sisters are all going somewhere cool, lol and I'm going to the fish store, and thats fine, but I do want to see something I couldn't see anywhere else but in Montreal.
Thanks again guys, cheers!
how about visiting the 'Jardin botanique" botanical garden? advertised as third largest in the world. :D
i would say catch a hockey game but its totally not the right season for that. also thats just what id do. find a brewery Canadians make boss beer. yeah im all tapped out of ideas. probably why during the 8 month hockey season all i do is watch hockey and drink beer.
Oooh god, the last time I went to Montreal I ended up spending 100's of dollars on Lagavulin and cuban cigars. I think the only thing I overcame my constant hangover for was sledding at Mont Royal, and it's not the season for that right now.
I keep meaning to go to the Montreal Biodome. It's supposed to be very cool. However Montreal is just an eternal party for me, so getting dressed before the place closed never happened.
yeah id have to say if i went there it would pretty much be party time too.
