Looking very nice. I love large live plant aquariums with small schooling fish. Please keep posting pics as you add new plants or fish.

Also, can you give some specs? Describe the setup, filtration, and additives?

welll...

i start with a substrate maybe i give you the components later (im not sure about the names in english) im using a DIY sistem (its the same, but i change my biotipe) you can se more details in this post

well.. im not use CO2 yet... im looking for profesional kits but they are VERY!! VERY!! EXPENSIVE IN COSTA RICA!!!, well actually, they aren t in sale...., so maybe im gonna use a DIY sistem... but im looking for help..., i dont wanna make a mistake...,
THANKS FOR THE COMMENT!!! and Im sorry for my grammar!!

Here's a website I found for a really good DIY system, I hope you can translate all of it ok. It shows pretty much the ideal system and explains why each part is used, some of it's optional, some of it's not and a lot of different ideas are given for some of the parts.

I could be wrong, but I think I see sea-green colored tubing on the left that would lead me to believe he's running a canister of some kind, or possibly a wet/dry, as well.

One thing that always makes me jealous about tanks I see from Central America: no heaters!

The tank looks great. I can't wait to see it once those plants have had more time to fill in. I especially like your driftwood. Keep us posted!

Lol, I think that you wouldn't be so jealous if you had to live in that heat. Well I mean obviously they are used to it. But I couldn't handle it, leaving my igloo and going to a tropical climate, I can hardly handle the summer here. And with global warming, it must be getting hot there.

Anyways, you have a beautiful tank!!! I hope you keep us posted!! You can do so much with a tank that big!! I love the huge piece of drift wood. How many pounds of gravel is in that tank  Lol it seems like an insane amount.

leonardo mata 08-04-2008 03:23 PM

jejeje!!

jeje... i think i used like mmm.... 180 pounds of gravel....
its a cool trip!! i and my friends go to a nice river near my house swim a litle bit and extract a clean gravel!!!...
thanks for te comments... Costa Rica its a hot place, but i live near of a tropical rainforest so its also a very rainy place....
