new rocks in cichlid tank
 

Hi all, i have a 35g cichlid tank, just purchased some rocks, they are white with holes in them, they are calcium carbonate rocks, by Caribe Sea. They're supposed to raie the ph, hope it soesn't raise it too much, i guess I'll need to test them in my sick tank before using them, has anyone used them before?

Are these american or african cichlids? If these are africans you'll be just fine with the rocks, if they are american, I'd recommend replacing them with something that won't alter your water chemistry.

thay're african, so i'm thinking I should be ok, I;m using freshwater sand which is inret so hopewfully the ph doesn't climb too high. I'll probably set it up this weekend, and get some pics up right away

I doubt you'll be able to get your ph too high for those guys. Many people use crushed coral for their african tanks- the rocks will be quite beneficial to your fish actually.
