does anybody breed fire mouthes or know anything about breeding them[/list]
Besides convicts, they are one the easiest cichlids to breed. All you need is a flower put or anything to make into a cave and give them time, they'll breed.
do they pair up easy :?:
Yes. Matters how big your tank is. The ideal thing is to have enough room to buy 6, let them pair up and the remove two the don't pair up. If your tank is 55 or smaller, only do one pair, because when they breed they get really aggressive.
When they are breeding, use some darter fish. Danios work well. That why the male will take his aggression out on fish he can't catch instead of beating up the female. Don't contribute to Domestic Violence.
i only have a 20 gallon long :(
thats not enough is it :(
Then just get two. Make sure one is male and the other is female. But after 2 or 3 weeks of hatching, you must either remove the parents or the fry.
cool thanks 8) :D
