Hi and welcome aboard, Burn.

They're not antennae, but rather the "bristles". No, they don't. They bother mostly the fish dwelling in the mid and surface levels. I would rather go with pentazonas than the tigers. The former is more peaceful whereas tigers can limit your choices due to fin-nipping issues.

i don't know what is pentazonas, but i want to put:

and
http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fis.../tigerbarb.jpg

but i don't know exactly, because i have to chose betwwen scalarae and tetrazona :9 and i don't know wich is more beautiful . What do you think. Sorry for off topic:(

Did you mean the angelfish(Pterophyllum scalare)?:) If so, I'd choose the scalare rather than the barbs.:) They're more stunning but this limits you the choices of getting tetras. Scalares tend to eat slim-bodied tetras like neon tetras but there are lots of choices available. I'd recommend you try diamond tetras(Moenkhausia pittieri). They're stunners.

Diamonds are deep-bodied characins and are absolute stunners especially when mixed with angelfish. Cardinal tetras are also good options as they grow bigger than neons but a bit more expensive.

By the way, here's a pic of Puntius pentazona(formerly Barbus pentazona).:)

They seem a little slimmer compared to Barbus tetrazona and often have 5 bars on their body.:)

at my local lsf they are sold as tiger barbs (barred) and green tiger barbs.

Burn_X1 01-02-2007 11:05 AM

So, after some deciosin my aquarium will be 112L. 70/40/40.
I would like to put tetrazona with neons. I heards thet if you pu tetrazona after neons, they will not attack.
Can i make thc combination possible?
