pregnant guppy dead, eggs extracted
The topic explains it all. About an hour ago one of my guppies was on the gravel dead, her gravid spot was pretty dark and i read somewhere that you can gently cut her belly open to give the fry a chance and so thats what i did. now that i have the eggs, im not sure if this will actually work but with most egg layers people just take the eggs and put next to an airstone. i have my eggs which are like in a yellow batch around 15 , put them in an empty jar and put an airstone. Is there any hope at all for these fry?

... Guppies don't lay eggs? :?
So unless it looks somewhat like fry I would say no, they aren't going to survive.

Where guppies are livebearers... i would suggest not getting excited at all about any fry living. sucks that your guppy died and you went through all that trouble. i wouldn't recomend trying to save fry from a dead guppy as they usually tend to be very weak and probably won't grow to be healthy adults.

sorry to hear about your guppy ive done that before a sort of fish c-section and only 1 baby survived ,they dont lay eggs they start with eggs but the male does his magic and she will give birth to live swimming fry if there were eggs in her she may not have had them spawned by the male
