Dalmatian Molly Red Poop?
I just picked up a dalmatian molly (never had one before) from the LFS yesterday. I noticed in the bag when I got it home that there was some stringy poop. About a quarter of it is red. I saw the same thing this morning. After doing some research it seems that a) this probably has something to do with what they were feeding her at the store and b) it seems to be a common thing with dalmatian mollies specifically. Is this accurate? If so, why is it that dalmatian mollies primarily have this issue?

Hmmmm, I'd say don't feed her any flake food for a couple days but instead you should try nuking a couple frozen peas in a little bit of water for about 15 secs, then letting one cool, deshell it and either cut it into teeny-tiny pieces or squish it between your finger and then try feeding it to her. If you have a flat-tipped toothpick you can try sticking it on the end and see if she'll take it. Perhaps dalmatian mollies are more prone to this because they're a hybrid so there's a genetic flaw in there.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Deshelled peas seems to be a common practice for many of you. What specific characteristics of the pea is beneficial to tropical fish?

It's a lil bit of some healthy green ruf***e to gets things moving down there  if you catch my drift.
