Discus Breeding Help
OK, I have a Discus tank.
After a very long time, two have paired off and laid eggs. It caught me off guard and they laid their eggs in their tank (with a lot of other fish). They ended up either turning white or disappeared (perhaps eaten).
I didn't expect it to happen so fast, but they laid eggs again a week later....again, in the main tank and all were lost.
I will say though that I noticed because I saw them paying attention to the eggs. I never would have noticed otherwise as the tank is heavily planted. This may have happened many times before and I never noticed.
So I set up a 29 with a sponge filter and for two weeks kept them in it...no go. I put them back in the main tank. 2 days later, tons of eggs!!
This time I removed my UV light (with the eggs) and put it in my 29 and moved the discus into it. I dosed with Methylene blue
But now they ignore their eggs....as if they don't see them or recognize them.
What can I do? I can't move all the other fish.
