Semi Low Tech Success Updated 12-9-06
This tank is semi Low Tech in that I do not inject CO2. I still dose EI and dose fairly heavily with everything. I also use excel in this tank at 1ml a day and 4ml on water change days after the water change. I spot treat on this day to get rid of more staghorn algae, which is minimul. The progress of this tank is phenominal and faster growth that I ever had with DIY CO2.
wow it looks really nice. we are working on our planted tank as we speak, would still like a few more plants.
But it rather nice looking, good job.
good work,looks really nice
Well things are going nicely as you can see. I trimmed the aromatica again and will be running out of room in the back pretty soon.
Man I have to get a bigger tank!
Very nice! Can you post instructions or link to how you made it?
Looks awesome man! My fake plants are envious... :P
Move your oscars, bichir and African cichlids and get some tetras and angelfish along with live plants. There you go. :wink2:
Jaysn, if you are talking about the tank, it just takes a little work and a lot of patience. I will gladly tell you exactly what I dose and stuff if you want it. If you are talking about the cave, it is ceramic and I made it in my dad's shop.
The primrose is simply becoming a pain in the neck! It has grown another 6 inches since the 9th and shows no sign of slowing down. Gonna have to trim and replant again but after that it is trade time as my crypts are gonna be thinned soon also as well as my pearlweed.
Is nice to finally be bale to grow any plant I put in there and have it grow fast enough to actually be able to scape with it instead of so slow I get bored with it.
My favorite thing until I get pressurized and a larger tank, Excel!
So you did use DIY CO2 attached to an airstone? W/ 3 bottles? Thats what it looks like ;)
I'm actually asking about the CO2, I'm thinking that I'm going to need to start adding it in some form to my tank. I'm assuming it's just a fermentation canister, which I'm no stranger to since I brew beer, but any details you could give me would be great. Thanks!
