Info Needed On BiOrbs Please
I'm new here. This is my first post. I'm not new to fishums though. My nephew's b-day is coming up and he wants a fish. Specifically a "fish bowl." I hate fish bowls. After a long web search tonight I found the BiOrb. It looks interesting. Anyone have one and/or care to comment on them? I'm thinking of getting him the Baby BiOrb...4 gallons. Maybe putting just a Betta in it or maybe a few tiny Tetras. What do you all think? I want something with that fish bowl look but that will be easy for a 13 yr old to care for. This sounds ideal, but does it live up to what it promises? It has *all* the right elements, but do they function as they should? If so, I'll probably end up getting one myself sometime.
It will be a planted tank. I've got lots of plants to share with him. But it has to be something he can care for himself.
Also, how well would this work with Bio Spira in the initial set up rather than cycling it with a poor little fishy? I've never used anything with ceramic media in it and I have no clue how Bio Spira would work with that...I'm assuming very well, but I've forgotten more than the average person will ever know about fish care. So, please refresh my memory! Sending me links to read is fine. Brain fog sucks, lol!
Thanks for any and all help, I really do appreciate it.
