Betta & Platy....
I have a question, was wondering if a female betta will get along with platys????:-D
My females don't seem to mind my swordtails but honestly, with fish like bettas, who do not shoal with others of their species, it can go either way. There are some very mellow males and some terribly aggressive females. I seemed to have lucked out with my sorority because I got all my girls.when they were very small, and.they grew used to their tank mates.
its definitely a risk though. many members wouldn't recommend any betta with other fish ever.

My experience has led me to believe that you need to have a backup plan when you decide to add a betta to a community. As the previous poster said, it's a risk. So I guess I'm saying give it a whirl if you have a plan for dealing with a possible disappointment.
Thank you all for the input. I decided not to get the female betta from my lfs, it was not well, swimming weird in the cup. I rescued 6 baby mollies from the tank. They gave them to me for free. My platties are leaving them alone so far.
Right on. Good luck with those babies!
