Hi all.... How many....?
My question is I have a 55 gallon with 4 tux Platys, 4 fancy tail guppies, 1 pleco, 1 firebelly newt, and 1 african drawf frog. If I stay with all small guys like the platys and guppies how many can I have comfortably I know they have babies because the day after we got the platys home we have a few already and when I can get them I plan on putting them in a 2.5 gallon and getting them bigger and giving them to my LFS. I do not want to max out I really want advice on the comfortable number with room if a couple fry end up sticking around... Also a few have recommmeded the otto cats is that a good idea or is the pleco enough? By the way I have live plants and I will be upgrading my wisper 60 filter to a canister filter soon... I just see so many beautiful swordtails and guppies and platys and have a bigger tank for such lilttle guys...

The firebelly newt is going to need it's own tank. It's not meant to be in tropical waters, and shouldn't be in temperatures over 74 degrees. It also needs places out of the water to hang out.

Ok I have read both ways about the newt that he will be prefect in there and that he needs some land and I amnot sure where to go from here. He has been here for about 2 weeks now we keep our water at 78-79 and he seems to do very well. He has found him self a safe spot where he hides if he wants and other than that hes out and about with everyone hanging out climbing plants and rocks..... Even under these conditons do you still think he should be moved? If so what kind of tank and set up ( lights, flitters, ect... ) does he need and can he have any buddies with him in his areas. We really like him alot and love to watch him interact witht the frog fish and everything in the tank...
