should l leave the amazon sword in the plastic ''pot'' or should i take it out

ive now take my plants out of the pot because ive read that the cotton wool type material that is found in the basket helps promot algae growth, personally i think that the pots look ugly if not hidden. In other types of plants (not sure about the sword plant) you can spread the plant around the tank when its taken out the pot and looks better :D good luck :D

The rockwool is only used as a vessel to hold everything together. It is best to take it out so that the root mass can be free to find the needed nutrients for the plant.

I don't know why they ship them in it or how they even grow plants in the stuff past small starts.

A sword will grow fine in a pot, but not the little pot that it comes in. Just like a houseplant, it would need to be in a pot big enough to accomodate the rootball it will eventually make.
