Cleaning Filter Tubes
I'm having problems with the water flow in my Fluval 204 canister filter.. water is coming out, but not very quickly. it's on full power and it's only putting out water as quickly as it would at lowest power when i first got it. i think it's because of algae in the input and output tubes, and ive got most of it out with hot water but i'm wondering if there's a better way to clean them out. any advice is greatly appreciated!

There's pipe cleaners with bendable long handles you can buy. I got mine when I bought my Magnum 350. They work great when it comes to "U" shaped hard plastic pieces of the intake and return flow. As for the long soft plastic pieces, Just get as much as you can, usually there's not too much build up there, but you can rig up an extension to the pipe cleaners.

yeah, most of the buildup ended up being in the hard plastic pieces, and I got the majority out so it's flowing a little better now. I'll pick up some cleaners somewhere and see if anything else comes out. i got the filter for free from some people who were getting rid of all their aquarium stuff, so mine didn't come with anything really. thanks for the help!
