breeding albino cory catfish
i got 2 new cory cats yesterday i love them ill take some pics but will the breed and how long will it take for them to breed and how can u tel male and female
The only difference I can see is that my females are a lot bigger than the males. They might be about twice the weight. A little longer and also much fatter in the belly. I have two males and a female (which I bought at random, but apparently that's actually the right ratio for cories) and they lay eggs all the time. None of the eggs ever last more than two days in the aquarium, with the cories themselves and my snails usually finishing them off before then.
You've only really got a 50/50 shot you got a male and a female. If you increased the number of cat fish you'd have a better chance of being able to have a spawning pair.
Well, with cories you don't really have a pair form. My female mates with both males about...well, every day.
I meant more that you've got better odds of having both males and females if you can't tell the difference at the store.
You should search Albino Cory in the Breeding forum. There's a bunch of threads on this in there, and some of them are really excellent.
