Sump Pump Question?!
What is the Ideal Sump pump size for a 120 gallon discus plant aquarium? and is it true that discus do not like flow? or do they?
Most commercial sumps rated for 125G will only be from 20-25 gallons. With that said I would get as big as sump as possible. I have seen plenty of setups with the sump just slightly smaller than the show tank.
...The 55G tank seems to be a very common and inexpensive tank. Especially if you get one used.
If it were me, I would start looking at 55G and go up from there. The more water you have circulating in the system, the more buffer action you will get out of it and the happier fish you will have. :D :D
ok so having a bigger sump pump is ok for discus? Do discus like flow or are they a type of fish that dont like very much flow at all? because the bigger the pump the more flow in the tank.
I think Mr. Todd misread your post and thought you were asking what size "sump" not "sump pump". What size are you planning to make your sump?
my sump is made from my old 29 gallon tank. I bought plexi-glass siliconed everything in myself.
