betta with air.
i was just wondering if anyone has ever heard or seen this before.
i have a betta that has what seems like an air bubble in its belly. You can see right through it and the fish doesnt seen to be sick or anything. He eats fine and acts fine. My husband and i have not been able to figure it out and i was wondering if anyone has heard of this before, or what it might be. I will take pics and put them on here later so you will be able to see.
Have you tried Epsom salt? Any other symptoms? Difficulty swimming, raised scales, poor appetite? Have you checked the water parameters?
JouteiMike he swims just fine, eats good, and water is good. My wife is going to post pics.
This is what I was talking about:
mines got that i think its the feeding .
This is a picture of the internal organs of a betta. I found it on the web. I am posting it here in hopes to convince you to not "puncture" your betta in the future. As the photo shows, there are many vital organs such as heart, kidney, liver, and intestines that could easily be ruptured/damaged by that sort of practice. Without being able to examine the fish, I can't say for sure what the problem is, I'm still researching it because I've seen it many times before. What I can tell you is how dangerous that form of treatment can be to your fish. As soon as I can suggest a proper cure or solution to the problem, I will bring it here and/or pm you with it. Until then, the more information you can give the easier it will be and faster I can help.
Posting water params and foods offered, and any other information on the fish, including approximate age will only speed things up.
