Bubbler in sump = more effective?

I was just wondering, if I run a bubble strip under my biological media will get some wet/dry action going and increase the effectiveness?

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

Maybe some benefit. But it probably wouldn't be worth the extra $1.50 per month in utility charges. By the time the water gets to your sump the oxygen levels are extremely high. The trickle filter concept by definition exposes the water to a huge amount of oxygen.
