Fading Dwarf Gouramis
My daughter has bought a number of dwarf gouramis this past year and we are down to the last one. It seems to be fading color on the top and not swimming much.
We've had 3 normal sized ones for over a year and they do great.
Are we doing something wrong, or do they just have a short life span.
Re: Fading Dwarf Gouramis
Please note many dwarf gouramis you get are males. They have been fed with foods laced with hormones in Asian fish farms to change their sexes and enhance their coloration hence they are bound to live a very short life. IMO, they are best avoided. Your alternative would be Colisa fasciata, Colisa labiosa, Trichopsis pumila or Trichogaster leeri.
Appreciate your info, poor fish.
