Quick question, what type of fish is this?

Recently got this new fish, and as far as I know, it is a gourami of some description. But what EXACTLY is it and is it possible to tell its sex?
Is it safe to add another to the tank of the same or opposite sex? Its 29 gallon Juwel rekord 800.
Also have in the tank, 4 guppies, 4 black skirt tetras :)

Its a pearl Gourami

Agree. I can't tell from the photo if this is a male or female, but the profile expalins the difference, click the shaded name Pearl Gourami.

It also notes about the male's (especially) territorial nature and how to deal with this.

Be careful of the Black Widow Tetra though, they can be nippy and the gourami is a prime target. A larger group of the tetra might alleviate this, check their profile too.

Byron.

Thanks Byron, I shall bump up the tetras to 6 in their school, but so far there have been no problems with fin nipping which is good!
The gourami often hides behind a tall plant in the corner and I think this could be as he may be scared of me cause he swims around when im away! It may be because he is new (3 days!)
As of today, he sat further down towards the bottom of tank but im not too worried as he did swim out for feeding and did come out after around 5 mins.
