New Here - Which Skimmer for a 220 gallon reef tank?

I'm going to be starting a 220 gallon tank with a 30 - 40 gallon sump, so it's about a 250 gallon setup. What kinid of protein skimmer do Ii need for that kind of tank? Should I get one that is put in the sump, or outside of the sump? Also, when browsing skimmers, how do I know that it's sufficient enough for a 220 - 250 gallon setup? Any advice on thiis topic would be great. Thanks!

A few options:

For a hang-on fish only with live rock tank:

For an in sump fish only with live rock tank:

Or, if you want to get serious about keeping corals:

That should do the trick. I have ordered from this company several dozen times over the years and the service is excellent. You will be pleased.
