Floss to Tie Down Java Moss
Today I bought a patch of java moss for a small piece of driftwood in one of my tanks. I tied it down in 3 places with waxed dental floss, because I had no fishing line on hand. Do you think it will be okay to use waxed dental floss for this? I'm not too worried that it will damage the tank but I wanted to run it across others to get opinions. Thanks.

Is it flavored? A lot of those dental flosses are flavored with mint. I'm not sure if I'd put that in my aquarium. Why not use thread? Regular cotton thread works well because once it rots, the moss has had time to take hold on the driftwood.

+1 on the thread.

What about Glide brand of floss? I'm pretty sure it's just plastic thread and would probably be ok. I've actually had trouble with regular thread because my plants won't always attach by the time the thread rots. Anyone else?

Thanks for the comments. The floss is not flavored. It's just the plain waxed kind. If need be I can pick up some plastic thread or swap it out with the cotton type.
