Which filtration system is the very low maintainance? i got a 500 gal tank, with a couple fishes that make a little mess. i heard the bucket filters work really good, if so, can anyone give me a run through on how to put one together.... your help would be greatly appreciated....

Check this link. You'll need to wade through some stuff, but a good filtration system is explained there.

500 GAL? Your joking right. I know your US gallon is slightly less but 500 LITRES is a massive tank (130UK gallons).

500 GAL is a small pond dude.

There's probably an extra zero in there.

Why would you folks not believe a 500g tank. There are at a least two 720g tanks that I know of and a couple even larger tht members of teh forum have..

poster mentioned a COUPLE fish I would think that might lead some to wonder whether he or she meant 50 gal. Also wonder if one Filter would be enough for 500 gal.

Maybe the OP should identify the fish and define mess, eh?

:) Affirmative. Could be Lake Sturgeon.

Well I have trouble understanding someone who owns a tank of 500gals which is of huge magnitude, that doesn't know about filtration already etc.
