Is my fish blind?

For the last 2 days my betta hasn't eaten any of his pellets, but he is continuously snapping up at the water like he normally does when he eats. He doesn't look lethargic and actually seems a little more active than usual. I was thinking that he could just not like pellets anymore but that doesnt explain the unusual routine of snapping at nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? I've had him for about 6 months and he's been eating the same food since i got him. His eyes aren't clouded and his color is normal.
