API Algafix/ Seachem pH Regulator for my tank??
I've had a hard time dealing with algea in my tank. Lately the water has been ver cloudy, so I'm assuming it's an algal bloom. At Petco today I was looking at some API Algafix. Is this a good product? Is it safe for my fish and plants?
I was also looking at Seachem Nuetral Regulater, a product that is supposed to keep the pH at 7.0. Is this an effective product? I don't usually use chemicals to alter my pH, but it's really high - around 8.2. If I add this to the new water at water changes before putting the water in my tank, would this be safe for my fish and plants? That way the fish wouldn't be exposed to any huge changes in pH.
I bought API Algafix and only used it once on a tank and never have had to add it again no ill effect on fish
tank was green always I boiled decor cleaned gravel did everything I could think of to get rid of green water 50% water changes did little so i gave up .
then I saw AP Algafix and thought why not try can't be more stressful on tank then the severe water changes and decor, gravel cleanings.
and to my surprise 1 dose cleared water in 30 min on a 20 gal tank and have not needed to add another.
bottom line for me it worked great.
